Hans Rigendinger

Hans Rigendinger graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 1969 with a Masters degree in civil engineering, specialising in supporting structures and foundations (civil and structural engineering).

Since early 1972, he has been running his own engineering firm (planning and implementation) with up to 40 employees. During this time he and his company have been responsible for the planning and execution of over 300 bridge structures, approximately 500 buildings and a few dozen large industrial plants. Since 1995, he has been involved in the successful realisation of several real estate projects in the areas of commercial, residential and tourism properties.

In addition to 15 years spent supporting and  successfully developing and expanding an industrial company in the field of waste glass recycling, he has been actively involved since 2007 in the development of the SunVesta Group. Hans Rigendinger possesses broad knowledge, experience and solid know-how in the field of civil engineering, especially in the area of supporting structures and foundations, and the development and promotion of industrial plants and real estate projects.

Dr. Max Rössler

Dr. Max Rössler studied mathematics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH). After completing his doctorate at Harvard University, he received a research contract from NASA. After his return to Switzerland, Dr. Rössler lectured and researched as a professor at ETH in the fields of applied mathematics and operations research.

During this time he began to apply mathematical methods to problems relating to financial investments.Dr. Rössler joined Schweizerische Kreditanstalt (now Credit Suisse) in 1978 and headed the analyst department for fixed income products. He was also responsible for the management of investment funds totalling approximately CHF 12 billion.

From 1997, Dr. Rössler worked for SUVA for several years and was responsible for the management of a portion of their fixed-income investments. Dr. Rössler currently has two advisory board mandates with Swiss private banks.

Humberto Pacheco-Alpízar, M.C.L.

Humberto Pacheco was the Chairman of the Board of Pacheco Coto, a Costa Rican law firm with offices in eleven countries in four continents specializing in international asset planning till December 2017. CHAMBERS GLOBAL 2013 considers Mr. Pacheco “renowned as a major-league expert on international corporate, tax and estate planning”, who “combines second to none technical expertise with superb client skills.” Since 2006, this foremost publication has consistently listed Mr. Pacheco in Band 1 and Star Performer Ranking, and profiled him as “a savvy superstar of a lawyer” who “clearly stands head and shoulders above the market with his signature tax planning expertise”. During the summer of 1984 Mr. Pacheco was a Scholar in Residence at the University of California in San Diego. In 1987, Mr. Pacheco designed a trust structure (Briefcase Trust) used by some major international banks for their private clients. During 40 years Mr. Pacheco has advised individual and corporate multinational clients on tax-efficient structures that lower the impact of taxation whilst also providing effective asset protection. In 2013 CHAMBERS AND PARTNERS granted don Humberto its “Lifetime Achievement Award”, the topmost honour bestowed by that prestigious organization, in recognition of his outstanding professional career. Mr. Pacheco is a Founding Member and three times Past-President of the Costa Rican-American Chamber of Commerce, a Founding Member of AED (Costa Rica’s United Way) and member and promoter of other Social Responsibility organizations. He is the author of numerous publications and a speaker at many prominent conferences who is widely recognized as a top authority in international tax, corporate and estate law.

Executive Project Manager

Thomas Schmid

Thomas Schmid accompanied a number of strategic and structural conversions of unique hotel projects and has held several senior management positions encompassing various luxury properties in Switzerland.

In Bad Ragaz (Switzerland), he made a decisive contribution to the conversion from individual operation units into the Grand Resort through structural and architectural adaptation. Later he was overseeing the physical and structural conversion of the former Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich (Switzerland) into the luxury-class City Resort and established the remarkable product in the national and international market as Managing Director. Thomas Schmid then took over the project management of the reconceptualization and reconstruction of the four-star hotel Dolder Waldhaus in Zurich (Switzerland) until the receipt of the building approval.

After supporting the conceptual design and construction of the luxury-class hotel project «Belvedere» in Dubrovnik (Croatia) he joined SunVesta Holding AG in September 2018 as Executive Project Manager and future General Manager for the Papagayo Bay Resort & Luxury Villas project in Costa Rica.

Ernst Rosenberger

Ernst Rosenberger qualified as a Swiss Certified Public Accountant (“Swiss CPA”) in 1980. He then joined one of the largest (known at that time as the “big eight”) auditing firms: Deloitte Haskins and Sells.

His mandates were primarily of Anglo-Saxon origin and he has therefore been very much involved with US GAAP and other international accounting standards. Zurich and Johannesburg (South Africa) were his work bases.

After leaving the audit industry he became financial controller, director of finance and vice president finance in various industries. At Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Ernst Rosenberger acquired considerable expertise in the hospitality business. In addition to his role as CFO, he also temporarily represented the hotel group on the Mövenpick Group Management Committee.

Other functions have included membership of pension fund committees and the marketing task force. In 1999 Ernst Rosenberger set up his own consulting practice (www.ernst-rosenberger.ch) advising and supporting international companies in the areas of finance, accounting, controlling, business administration and general management matters.

Cyrill Escher

Cyrill Escher has more than 40 years of experience in the national and international finance industry, at the same time in Investment and Private Banking.

During his professional carrier he worked in different Swiss and international Banks, at the beginning in Investment Banking focusing on project, export and trade finance at Credit Suisse and First Bosten Corp., New York.

As from 1993 management duties in Private Banking, from 1996 until 1997 interrepted by the task as head of finance at Marc Rich & Co., Zug / Switzerland.

Founder  and CEO of three privately held Banks active in Private Banking and domiciled in the Principality of Liechtenstein and Zurich. Consultant to an international Family Office with Swiss Banking License.

Strong activity in Latin America, especially Central America. Fluent in German, French, English and Spanish.

Legal Advisor SunVesta Group

Alejandro Antillón

Alejandro Antillón A. is a Partner at EY Law in Central America and also heads the Real Estate & Hospitality Division of the firm. From 2005 to 2017 he was the Managing Partner and Head of the Real Estate & Hospitality practice at Pacheco Coto, the oldest law firm in Costa Rica that integrated with EY Law as of January 2018. Since 1998 he was also an active member of Pacheco Coto’s International Tax Planning Division, working jointly in complex real estate ventures and international tax structures. In this capacity, he has assisted numerous real estate developers in all stages of the project development, including financing and international tax structures, thus contributing with his expertise in both these areas of the law, to enhance the Firm´s spearheading practice and leadership.

In 2004-2005, Mr. Antillón held the position of General Manager of Stewart Title Costa Rica, a prominent international title insurance company with extensive business in Central America. Together with the expertise and skills that define his professional practice, first at Pacheco Coto and now within EY Law, his experience with that organization increased his understanding of the Costa Rican and Central American real estate markets. In 2013, he was elected to the Board of Directors of World Services Group (2013-17).

Clients and international evaluators define Mr. Antillón as one of Costa Rica´s foremost real estate and hospitality lawyers.

Project Manager Engineering

Fabricio Bianchini Murillo

Fabricio Bianchini Murillo graduated from the University of Costa Rica in 2010 as a Civil Engineer, he then concluded his master in MASc in Engineering at the University of British Columbia in 2012, specializing in construction and project management.

As part of his continues preparation, on 2015 he received his certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the internationally recognized Project Management Institute (PMI), broadening his knowledge in the Management of complex projects.

Since 2010 he joined as a partner of the construction firm B&M Ingeniería, a family company, where he has been involved in the successful construction and management of several projects in the areas of real estate and commercial businesses, demonstrating through these challenging projects his broad knowledge and experience in the fields of civil engineering and project management.

In November 2012 he became local Project Manager Engineering for Papagayo Bay Resort & Luxury Villas in Costa Rica. Fabricio remains at the same time partner in the company of his father.

Executive Assistant

Andrea Beck

Andrea Beck has been the Executive Assistant to the CEO of SunVesta Holding AG since 2007. In 2001 she completed her law degree at the University of Zurich. After graduating she worked for the insurance company AIG Europe and then for the District Court of Zurich. During her work for SunVesta Holding AG she undertook an additional training programme to qualify as an HR assistant in 2009.

Head of Accounting

Violeta Reithaar

Violeta Reithaar has been the Head of Accounting at SunVesta Holding AG since 2016. In 1998 she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Tourism/Hotel and Restaurant Studies at the Varna University of Management (Bulgaria). Over the following years, she gained extensive experience in the hotel and gastronomy sector. In 2014 she underwent further training as an accounting administrator at NBW Zurich and in 2015 she trained as a wage administration specialist at STS Zurich.

Assistant to the Chief Funding Officer

Aziza Davronova

Aziza Davronova has held the position of Associate, Finance, at SunVesta Holding AG since December 2016. The primary focus of her work is to support Mr. Cyrill Escher. Parallel to her employment she is studying law at the University of Vienna. Before joining the SunVesta Group she worked for her family’s company.
